Habib Hoseini

 

HABIB HOSEINI is a Persian classical singer living in Canada. He is one of the 35 young singers selected by the great maestro Mohammad Reza Shajarian among more than 2000 participants in an audition held by Iranian Academy of the Arts in 2007 to attend Shajarian’s master classes where he continued his studies in Persian classical music and voice training with maestro Shajarian for 7 years. He also holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence with a long background in automatic audio, speech and music signal processing and analysis.
Habib has performed in multiple international venues as a soloist and recorded albums in collaboration with both Persian and international musicians. He has also been invited to perform in several outstanding musical festivals and events including Tirgan opening ceremony in 2017 and music departments of McMaster and Alberta Universities in 2018. He was also awarded a grant from Centre des Musiciens du Monde (Centre of the Musicians of the World) and Conseil des Arts de Montreal (Montreal Art Council) to perform a tour of 8 concerts in Montreal during 2019-2020. He was also invited to the MUTEK AI Art Lab as a Technical Facilitator in 2020 to hold a workshop about applications of AI in art for artists from all around the world.
Habib’s singing has its roots in Persian classical and folk music. However, living in Canada has provided him with the opportunity to extend his experience in collaboration with musician with cultures and nationalities including English, French, Turkish and Arab musicians.
