The Tar is a stringed instrument that is commonly used in Iran and some other regions. It is played using a pick. The string has 28 or 25 frets. The last unique pattern of string construction also belongs to the famous Iranian Instrument maker Yahya.
The Mahdavi Professional Tar is made of Mulberry wood and Walnut, and natural skin. It is excellent in terms of sound quality. It is brand new and comes with a hard case. 

In Middle Eastern music, the tonal center or base tone of the starting piece of any "Dastgâh" plays a crucial role in tuning. Assuming that the white strings are tuned in "C", most of the time, the yellow strings are tuned in "G".
