This instrument is a percussion instrument with skin on both sides. It is played using a hand or palm leaf stem.

There are three types of this instrument: Dammam normal, Dammam Ghamba, and Dammam Ashkun.

The body material is plywood coated with a 2 mm wood layer, while the cover material can be Limba, Sapli, Walnut, or Beech. The skin type is goat, and the rope material is Brazilian hemp.
